This is one of Svanehøj’s largest LNG fuel-related orders to date. It is also the second LNG gasoline pump systems order that Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding has placed with Svanehøj in the final 12 months. In July 2021, Svanehøj signed a contract to offer deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15 000 TEU).
Svanehøj quadrupled sales of its patented deepwell fuel pumps in 2021, and says there are lots of indications that sales may enhance even additional in 2022.
“Until a couple of years ago, the use of LNG as a marine gas was limited to LNG carriers and smaller ships. But we are now seeing a sharp enhance in gasoline pump orders for deep sea vessels such as container ships and automotive carriers,” stated Johnny Houmann, chief sales officer at Svanehøj. “We had been chosen because the supplier of gas pump methods for over 50% of the dual-fuel LNG container vessels ordered globally in 2020–21. And we purpose to extend our market share further in the coming years.”
